Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda is all set to launch the fifth generation of the City mid-size sedan after the lockdown ends. Additionally, the brand will also be launching the 2020 version of the WR-V crosshatch closely followed by the Jazz hatchback. Coming back to the topic the all-new 2020 Honda City will certainly be different from its previous generations so let’s have a look at 10 of the unique features which will help the fifth-generation City stand out.

  1. New and More Powerful 1.5-litre Engine

    The most recent update the new sedan is that we will see an all-new more powerful and sturdy 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol unit with an expected power output of 121bhp with 155Nm of peak torque which is almost 10Nm higher torque than the previous-gen model.

  2. Diesel Engine with Optional CVT

    Surprisingly this time Honda is upto something as the current 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine capable of producing 99hp with 200Nm of peak torque will come paired to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard and for surprisingly for the first will have an optional CVT gearbox as well.

  3. First In-Segment VSA/AHA

    The all-new 2020 Honda City will also come equipped with a first in segment VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) and AHA (Agile Handling Assist).

    The VSA makes use of independent brakes on each of the for wheels in-order to maintain the balance during sharp turns.

    While the AHA does its works by applying brakes on the wheels to smooth the curve during corner sliding.

    The fifth-generation City will also feature an impressive and larger than before 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, voice command and voice navigation.

  6. Honda Connect

    Well, it clearly seems that Honda has finally understood the importance of a connected car these days. So taking cues from its key rivals Kia, MG and Hyundai the 2020 City will be the first Honda car to come with Honda Connect app base with a telematics control unit.

  7. 7-inch Multi-Info Display with a G-Force Meter

    The City sedan will also come equipped with an HD 7-inch multi-info display which also houses a G-force meter. The G-force meter eventually calculates the magnitude along with the direction of the acceleration while cornering or braking.

  8. New LED-Setup 

    Well, this feature will only be available in the top-spec variants of the Honda City 2020. this includes a total of 9 LED lamps integrated with DRLs and a newly designed LED headlamp. Not only that the new sedan also gets newly designed L-shaped turn signals integrated into the headlamps along with Z-shaped wrap-around combination lamps on the boot.

  9. Amazon Echo

    This is a one of a kind and a segment-first feature as well. This will require you to sync your car with your home device in order to control a number of things from your car. itself. You can also change songs, set reminders and do a ton of things with it.

  10. Bigger Than Before

    If compared the previous-gen the new fifth-generation will be bigger than ever as it will sit on a 2,600mm which will Honda to make the cabin more spacious and resourceful. In terms of dimensions, the new City is 4,549mm long, 1,748mm wide and 1,489mm tall.
