Maruti Suzuki is planning big for this year, and they have already begun with opening the bookings of the updated Baleno. They are also planning to launch a generation update for Brezza and a facelift for Ertiga.
Ertiga has been ruling the MUV segment since the launch, and there is still a waiting period if you buy one. It is the only MUV with a factory-fitted CNG kit which takes the waiting period for the CNG trim to 9 months. A test mule was spied recently; let’s see what we might get from the facelift:

No Major Design Changes
Ertiga Test Mule A video uploaded by MRD cars on youtube reveals the test mule spotted on the road. The front grille is camouflaged with the rest uncovered. This indicates some changes to the grille along with a reworked bumper.

There were no other design changes spotted, it still stands on the same alloys. The tail lamps and rear profile have also been kept intact. But there could be some design changes in the interior with more upmarket upholstery.

New Transmission
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga | Interior Coming to the mechanical changes, it will be powered by the same K15B 1.5-litre petrol engine churning out 105hp & 138Nm torque. The existing 4-speed torque converter might be replaced by a 6-speed torque converter.

A variety of transmissions such as CVT, DCT have come up in the competition. Maruti has been going with the old, reliable & easy to maintain gearbox for a while. This new 6-speed transmission might also slightly hike the prices.

CAFE 2 Compliance
The new transmission is already running in the global spec Vitara. It will also work towards reducing carbon emissions in accordance with the latest Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) 2 norms.
The new norms require car manufacturers to lower emissions from 130g/km to 113g/km. In addition to reducing carbon emissions, it will also help in slightly enhancing fuel efficiency. However, this gearbox might not be seen on other models soon.
