What will power the new Maruti Suzuki Swift?
Like the new Baleno, the new Swift is highly likely to be powered by the same engine. It is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated dual-jet petrol engine that generates peak power of 88bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque. And like before, we don’t expect the hatch to come with the dual jet turbo petrol engine. Nevertheless, powering the front wheels will like to be an option of either a 5-speed manual transmission. As an automatic gearbox, the car is likely to get a 5-speed AGS automatic, which is essentially an AMT.

As a conventional automotive manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki will increase the price of the new Maruti Suzuki swift. Currently, the ex-showroom price of the hatch starts at Rs. 5.91 Lakh and goes all the way up to Rs. 8.84 Lakh. But considering the new Baleno and its price hike, we think Maruti will increase the prices. So, the price hike of the new Swift is expected to be from Rs 40,000 to Rs.1,00,000 depending upon the variant.
