  • When can Headlight Leveling be used?

There can be multiple instances where this feature can be used. For example, when driving up a hill, we can lower the focus of the headlights and have much better road visibility instead of the light just throwing itself towards the sky.

  • Why is it just for lowering the throw?

The Headlight Leveler only lowers the throw because we already have a high beam function if we want a higher-up throw from our headlights. We can also use the leveller and the high beam function simultaneously to ease things for oncoming traffic.

1. What is headlights auto leveling?

Headlight auto leveling is a feature that adjusts the vehicle’s headlights at a vertical angle to compensate for changing the vehicle’s posture. This is for when the rear suspension compresses due to this load. This ensures that the headlights maintain the correct aiming point, improving driver visibility and preventing glare in oncoming traffic.

To level headlights – Park your car on level surface facing a wall and garage door and then located the headlight adjustment the screws on thr back of the headlight assembly. Use a screwdriver to turn the screw and adjusting the beam up-down or left-right until it’s properly aligned with a pre-marked target on the wall.

4. Should car headlights be level?

Yes, The car’s headlights should be aligned and level. This is to ensure optimal visibility and safety while driving, especially at night. Misaligned headlights can reduce visibility for the driver and can also blind oncoming traffic.

5. How do I know if my headlights are level?

To know if your headlights are level, park your car on a level surface in front of a wall then turn on the headlights and observe the light pattern. The brightest light of each headlights beam will fall slightly below the horizontal line and in the centred of the vertical line and will suggest you the proper alignment.

What is the function of headlight leveling?

Headlight leveling lets you change the height of the beam. It keeps the light on the road and out of the eyes of other drivers. When the car is heavy at the back, the front lifts and the lights point higher.

How to use headlight leveling?

There’s a small dial or switch on the dashboard, near the wheel. You turn it to move the beam up or down. Heavy load then use lower beam. Light car then raise it back.

How do self-levelling headlights work?

Sensors read the car’s angle. If weight or bumps change it, the system adjusts the beam by itself.

What are the two levels of headlights?

Low beam and high beam. Low for normal roads. High for dark and empty stretches. One avoids glare, the other pushes light further.

How to test headlight level?

Park on flat ground, face a wall. Turn the lights on. See where they hit. Both should be even, not too high. Enough to see, not to blind.

  1. Its also used when car is loaded with people and luggage. In this case back of the car is further down but front axel has nearly same weight so light beam goes upward on 0, so you have to manually bring it down.

  2. Explanation is not enough.

When you have heavy passengers/load at the rear seat/ trunk in Cars/ SUVs especially those that have Coil springs at the rear suspension, the rear part will sink perceivable due to which the head lamp will shift its aim higher above the normal setting. So to bring it back to normal this setting is useful.
