MG Motor India has announced that its first electric sports car, the MG Cyberster, will launch in India in January 2025. This two-seater convertible will be available through the company’s new premium retail channel, MG Select.

Key Features of the MG Cyberster:
- Design: Inspired by the classic MG B Roadster, the Cyberster combines traditional design with modern technology. It features distinctive scissor doors and a sleek silhouette.
- Dimensions: The car measures 4,533mm in length, 1,912mm in width, and 1,328mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,689mm.
- Performance: Internationally, the Cyberster is available with two powertrain options:
- A single rear-mounted motor producing 308hp, paired with a 64kWh battery, offering a range of up to 520km.
- A dual-motor setup delivering a combined 544hp and 725Nm of torque, equipped with a 77kWh battery, providing a range of up to 580km.
- Acceleration: The dual-motor variant can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds.
- Interior: The Cyberster’s cabin is equipped with advanced technology, including a Bose stereo system and a multi-screen interior setup.
The MG Cyberster will be imported as a completely built unit (CBU). While the specific powertrain options for India are yet to be confirmed, the car is expected to be priced between Rs 50 lakh and Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom).
As an electric sports car, the Cyberster doesn’t have direct competitors in the Indian market. However, in terms of price, it will compete with models like the BYD Seal, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Kia EV6.
Following the Cyberster, MG plans to introduce the Mifa electric MPV in India, which will also be available through MG Select outlets.
With its blend of classic design and modern electric performance, the MG Cyberster aims to offer Indian consumers a unique driving experience.
