9 Best Electric Cars Around The World. What The World Is Up To?

Tesla is entering India. All of us know that right? With the giant electric carmaker entering India, we highly await the arrival of some other manufacturers too. In today’s featured, we will talk about some electric cars that we want here in India. Let’s have a look at some EVs around the world that we anticipate here in India.

  1. Nissan Leaf

Starting our list of international electric cars with the one which is here in India (almost). I am saying this because I have spotted the earlier gen Leaf many times now.
What makes the car so special?

Well, powering the 147HP motor is a 40-kWh lithium-ion battery that provides this vehicle with a range of about 360kms. Nissan Leaf also gets an option of fast charging. Although it is not officially here in India, we hope Nissan decides to bring in the already successful EV in the Indian market really soon.

  2. Renault ZOE

    Renault Zoe
    Renault Zoe

For all those who were there at the Auto Expo 2020, this is a familiar name. Most of us have already seen what Renault Zoe looks like and we expect Renault to bring it to the Indian market as a budget EV hatch. As of now, we are aware that the Renault Zoe comes with 2 engine.. oh! motors to choose. A 108 hp and a 135hp. The more powerful Zoe is capable enough to produce 245Nm of peak torque.

Powering the motor is 52kWh battery with an option of fast charging. Everything combined, Renault Zoe can travel approximately 370kms. We know that the Kwid EV was also there at the Auto Expo and it would be equally great if Renault brings it in before the Zoe.

Okay, this one is a bit high on the budget but if it arrives in India, it will definitely sell in good amounts. The BMW i3 comes two motor options, a 168hp and a more power 181hp powertrain. A 42kWh battery powers the vehicle and the top-spec vehicle can have a maximum range upwards of 320kms.

As Indians are already loving driving the EVs, we are sure that they will definitely love an electric car in the luxury segment. Luxury delivered in a small size, that’s the BMW i3 for you.

It’s already here but is not that popular yet. We know EVs are gaining popularity in India gradually and it will definitely take some more time for them to gain popularity in India. This huge SUV is powered by an 80kWh battery that is capable of producing 402hp of power and a peak torque of 700Nm.

While Mercedes is an already renowned brand among luxury car buyers in India, the EQC has made them step into the world of EVs and the Indian customers are loving absolutely everything this electric SUV delivers to them.

A brand which is now among India’s favourite car brands. Be it Seltos, be it the Sonet, Indians are absolutely in love with Kia’s cars. If Kia brings in an EV, it would definitely be a great competition in the Indian market. Hyundai has the Kona on sale in India and if Kia brings in the Niro, there won’t be anything better than that.

Niro comes with an electric powertrain capable of producing 134hp of power and a peak torque of 395Nm.

  7. Mini Cooper SE

BMW i3 would be fun to drive but Mini which is already known for developing fun to drive vehicles also has an EV in the hose. We are talking about the Mini Cooper SE here. It is currently on sale in some parts of the world and we would like to have it here in India for sure. The Mini Lineup in India currently consists of the Mini, the Clubman and the Countryman.

Another one on our list of EVs is the Polestar. This is actually a very famous EV brand from the US. The Polestar EV2 has Google onboard! Well, if this comes to India anytime soon, the Indian audience will definitely experience something out of the box which is not available in the Indian market as of now!

The Polestar EV2 comes with two electric motors, one at the front and one at the rear axle. The setup produces 408hp of power and 660Nm of torque. 0 to 100 comes few milliseconds shy of 5 seconds.

  9. Porsche Taycan

Last but not least! Indians are supercar fans as well. Porsche has something in the house for all those supercar fans! The Porsche Taycan you see above is an EV and can easily match the performance of any other sports car that you might have in your mind! We know Tesla also has similar stuff in the house but just imagine how great a Porsche would be!

The 4S comes with electric setup producing 522hp of power and a top speed of 250kmph. A Porche indeed! 0 to 100 comes at just 4 seconds with the innovative launch control by Porche. It has a maximum range of 524kms (with performance plus package).

These were the 9 electric cars that are either there in the world or are about to arrive anytime soon. These highly awaited EVs still seem to be far away from India but if Tesla starts selling it here soon, we can expect other brands to pay attention to the Indian market in terms of EVs as well. Let’s see what the time brings to us.
