1. Hero Pleasure +

Hero Pleasure +

It is one of the best-selling Hero scooters in the market. It is a smart, lightweight scooter and is mostly preferred by young college-going students or people who want to use it for a daily city commute. Its lightweight makes it suitable for daily city drives. Though it is nice and reliable. But there are some common problems faced by its owners.

Some of these problems are:

  • Starting Problem: Many owners face this issue sometimes when they start their scooty in the morning, or sometimes when it is parked idle for a few days, it refuses to start, and this problem worsens in winter.
  • Low Ground Clearance: Some owners also complain that it scrapes when passed over some large speed breakers or sometimes touches the ground when they drive on rough village roads.
  • Poor Headlight Throw: Many owners complain of the headlights, whose throw is not so good and is not bright enough. This lowers their confidence while driving at night.
  • Poor Battery Life: Some owners face issues with quick battery drainage, especially in models with an auto headlamp feature, which is very irritating sometimes.

How to Fix:

  • Always cold-start your scooty in the morning, especially in the winter season, and if it is parked idle for many days, always start it on alternate days and let it remain started for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Whenever you drive over high-speed breakers, try to cross them at a slow speed, and the same for the rough roads.
  • You can go for after-market LED bulbs to increase the throw of light at night.
  • Check whether the battery is not too old; if it is, replace it, and the issue might get resolved.

 2.  Hero Destini 125

Hero Destini 125

It is another Hero’s best-selling scooty and it has a 125 CC powerful engine with Hero’s i3S technology. It is mostly preferred by families or people who have long city drives. It is comfortable, smart, and powerful. But it also has some common problems like:

  1. Rattling Noise:  Many owners complain of rattling noise when they drive through rough roads, especially from the front panel, which is very annoying sometimes and ruins their driving experience.
  2. Mileage Drop: Some owners also noticed that after 6 or 8 months, the mileage of the scooty suddenly decreases. The company claims a mileage of about 50 km/l, but after a few months of use, the mileage drops to 42 – 43 km/l. It might not affect you if your daily running is not much, but for someone whose daily running is very much high, then this much drop in the mileage makes a huge difference in the fuel cost.
  3. The i3S malfunction: Some owners have highlighted that the i3S system does not always function smoothly in traffic, especially during heavy traffic.
  4. Stiff suspensions: Some users complained that the rear suspension of this specific model is really stiff and feels hard when they drive over rough roads or sometimes on potholes.

How to fix:

  • On the next service, get the i3S system checked.
  • Try to adapt good driving habits and avoid sudden acceleration or braking for better mileage.

3. Hero Xoom

Hero Xoom

It is the most sporty-looking scooter in Hero’s lineup in 2025, which comes with three different engine options: 110, 125, and now in 160 CC too. The deliveries of the Xoom 160 CC are going to start next month. It offers a more sporty look, loaded with features like cornering lights (in the 160 CC only), a Digital console, and i3S technology. It looks sporty, stylish, and powerful. Besides all these pros, there are some cons too. As it has some of the common issues that many owners face, such as:

  1. Lag in Pick Up: Many owners highlighted that the Xoom (both 110 & 125 CC) slightly lags in the initial pickup. Which is not that noticeable, but might feel irritating when overtaking. It also vibrates on initial acceleration, especially if you are two sitting.
  2. Build Quality: Some owners experience rattling noise or loose panels after a few months of purchase. It feels really annoying, especially on rough or uneven roads when you spend such a hefty amount, and even then, you don’t get the expected quality.
  3. Sharpness in Brakes: Many owners have highlighted that the brakes of Hero Xoom feel very hard sometimes, and sometimes they feel very soft on different road conditions.
  4. Electrical Glitches: As you know, this particular model comes with a digital display, and sometimes users have to face some electrical malfunctions due to which this digital display freezes for some time. It is not that serious because sometimes there are some glitches in such types of displays, but it can be annoying sometimes.

How to Fix:

  • Get it serviced regularly and adjust the suspensions if needed.
  • Lubricate a/joints and tight loosen panel screws if needed and avoid rough roads or potholes if possible or if needed just cross them at a slow speed.
