1. “Isn’t it Expensive?”
   

   

   Okay, granted.

   The Honda City is the most expensive sedan in the C-segment sedan rivalry. With the 5th-gen Honda City starting at ₹10.90 lakhs, it surely carries a premium over its rivals.

   While there is the added Honda benefit added with it, but the extra premium price does irk a little. However, the added price does have some extra bonus features in the feature list.

2. “Isn’t Verna Better To Drive?”
   

   

   Well, that’s something many would disagree with.

   Honda City’s i-VTEC engine was developed keeping in mind just one thing, i.e. driving. The 1.5-litre petrol engine’s 121 PS power and a generous amount of torque makes sure you are never low on power.

   The steering of the Honda City certainly seems more precise than it’s rivals. However, the narrower body does seem to generate a little body roll in the corners.

3. A Chauffeur’s Car?
   

   

   Well, the point above certain advocates for the driveability of the Honda City. The driving ability and the performance of the City certainly make it a car worth driving.

   However, if you happen to be someone who likes to be driven around rather than driving then the legroom in the back makes that possible as well.

4. Why Not A Ciaz?
   

   

   This might as well irk a lot of Honda City owners.

   Yes, the Maruti Ciaz is a very good option at a lower price than the City. However, the City’s driving capabilities and the overall performance leaves the Maruti Ciaz far behind.

   While the Maruti Ciaz does earn some points in the fuel efficiency and the engine refinement arena, the City takes the front seat for enthusiasts.

   So, concluding this argument, all we can say is that if you are someone who loves revving the engine to the red line (not recommended though) then the Honda City is your next car.

   Although the Ciaz makes much more sense if you want a car that has decent performance and packs a punch in the looks and interior department, we recommend the Ciaz, which does arrive at a lower price.

5. “i-DTEC? Say Goodbye To Refinement”
   

   

   This is one thing that many Honda City owners might agree with. The i-DTEC engine in the City does have a little unrefined nature which can be rectified.

   The unrefined nature of the i-DTEC does make the diesel variant of the City a little something to be worried about.

6. Still No Turbo?
   

   

   The Hyundai launched the Verna Turbo. Maruti went on to release the Ciaz Sports in its BS6 stable upgrade. Why doesn’t Honda decide to bring the City RS to India?

   There were a lot of speculations around the City RS being launched from Honda’s inventory. With the pictures of the Thai variant of the Honda City RS floating around on the internet, us Indians did get a little excited.

   The i-VTEC City RS offered in Thailand generates a 122 hp of power combined with a generous 173 Nm of torque.

7. New City’s Design? God, No!
   

   

   Honda was having a good run with the Honda City. The run did run well till the time it decided to redo an already amazing exterior of the Honda City.

   The new design elements on the Honda City does take away some of its sharp design elements. The perfectly-shaped headlights from the front have been replaced with a ‘fluidic-looking’ headlamps.

   All of this and some other changes have certainly made the new Honda City look a little weaker. However, that again varies from one consumer to another. Whatever helps Honda drive up their sales.
