Online Booking for HSRP, Colour-Coded Stickers Simplified in Delhi

So, if you were having trouble booking an appointment to get your HSRP or Colour-Coded stickers online. The Delhi Transport Department has now made the process a lot easier.

According to a senior official from the Delhi Transport Department, the process of booking a high-security registration number plates (HSRP) and colour-coded stickers for vehicles registered before April 2019 have been simplified by doing away with uploading the registration certificate and a one-time password.

15th December 2020 | Latest HSRP Update

In a recent public notice issued by the Delhi Transport Department, has notified that failure to get HSRP and colour coded stickers or third registration mark could lead to hefty penalties under the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 and the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.

15th December 2020 marks the date after which a car without the HSRP and the colour coded sticker will be fined.
Also, the diver has to pay a sum of 5,500 if and when found without the HSRP and the sticker.
Besides, the Government has started home delivering both the necessary items at home making it a child’s play to order one.
As applying for both, the HSRP and the sticker have been made easy, the traffic police in Delhi has increased the checking on the streets.
For now, 9 teams are stationed in 9 different areas in Delhi to rigorously check and make the people aware of the same.

For you to know, the cars from other states travelling to India’s capital are not exempted from the checking, they too ought to have the HSRP as well as the sticker. Here is how applying for HSRP and the sticker has been made super easy and convenient.

How has the process simplified?

According to Rosmerta Safety System, the vendor who runs bookmyhsrp.com said, that there is no need to upload a scanned copy of the RC anymore.
Moreover, the previous seven-step online booking process has been narrowed down to just 5.
The process of the OTP (One Time Password) has also been removed.
The process to upload copies of vehicle registration certificates have also been removed.

How to book an appointment for an HSRP?

You can book your slot through bookmyhsrp.com
The first step includes entering all the booking details. These details include,
- state (Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh or Delhi)
- Vehicle’s registration number
- Chassis No. (Only the last 5 digits including special characters if any)
- Engine No. (Only the last 5 digits including special characters if any)
- In the end, captcha.
Next, enter all the necessary vehicle details including,
Vehicle Details | HSRP
- Bharat Stage. This is the exhaust emission regulation the vehicle adheres to. To know the vehicle’s BS or Bharat Stage refer the link.
  https://vahan.nic.in/nrservices/faces/user/searchstatus.xhtml
- On the same link, you can also get the vehicle registration date.
- Don’t forget to add the fuel type and the manufacturer.
- Even the details of the vehicle type and the vehicle category you can refer to the same link.
- In the end, upload a picture of your RC which should not exceed 3MB in size.

Before going to the next step, you have to give the contact details of the vehicle’s owner.

In the next step, select the nearest location to get the HSRP installed.
After that, select the date and time when you can go and get the number plate installed.
The only thing now left is to pay for the HSRP and the colour coded sticker.

How to book Colour-Coded Stickers?

The colour-coded stickers can also be booked through the same portal (Link is here)
The first step involves clicking on the “HSRP 3rd Sticker“.
Colour Coded Sticker Booking details
Fill in the required details-registration number, engine number, chassis number (remember to enter only the last 5 digits including special characters if any)
Also, when applying for the HSRP Colour Coded sticker don’t forget to keep the front and rear number plate’s laser code handy.
Select the ‘Fuel Type‘ and fill in all the required details before you are redirected to the payment gateway.
Also, booking a colour coded sticker, one can get it delivers at their doorstep, provided they live in Delhi or Uttar Pradesh.

What are front and Rear Lasers?

This is a laser alphanumeric code of minimum 9 digits, etched in the bottom left hand below the Ashok Chakra.

How much do I have to pay to obtain the document?

You can pay anything between ₹600 to ₹1,100 depending upon the vehicle class.
The charges for two-wheelers will range between ₹300 to ₹400.
Although, vehicle owners who already have an HSRP can get the colour coded stickers installed at just ₹100.

What do these colour codes specify?

The colour-codes are meant to identify vehicles based upon their fuel types.

Light-Blue for petrol and CNG vehicles
Orange for diesel vehicles

What do these stickers bear?

The designated stickers bear the details including- registration number, registering authority, laser-branded PIN, and engine and chassis numbers of the vehicle.

What are the consequences of not having these documents?

The fine for not having these documents will range anywhere between ₹5,000-₹10,000.
The rule is set to come into existence after the round of awareness drives have been conducted, giving ample time to people to get their documents.

The author seems to have given incomplete information because the portal does not give the option of applying for fuel stickers alone.
I already have HSRP but when I enter the portal and enter details of Chasis , engine etc, the portal asks to pay for HSRP only.There is no provision to pay just foe Fuel sticker.

  There are two options when you click on “HSRP Colour Sticker” options. If you already have a a HSRP plate on your car. Click on the right-side options “Proceed for HSRP Booking” and fill out your details.

  Hey Shinoj, HSRP is mandatory all over India. We would suggest you get the HSRP 3rd sticker too, to avoid future troubles. Walk in to your nearest dealership (of your car) and they will help you out. Its a 5 mins process.

Honda has few slots so i got appointment for 12/01 but the receipt is valid till 27/01 so its ok. UP registrations have now stopped because vendor can’t take any more orders for now.   I too faced the same problem. Turned out that I need to give the entire Engine and Chassis number and not the last 6-7 digits. For me the engire number is something like FXXX. Chassis number is 16 digits and letters.

I reached out to RTO Noida to inquire above HSRP for Chevrolet car however they also does not have any information regarding it and does not support HSRP request. All Chevrolet car owners are clue less as to where they can get HSRP despite valid RC for another 5-10 years. Also contacted Chevrolet Service center and they are in touch with General Motors regarding this however still does not have any update. No option but to wait and watch.

  For Mahindra XUV500, you have to select Four Wheeler Vehicle under Make/Type, then select Mahindra. For vehicle class, select Private Vehicle if you use the SUV for personal use. hI Nitesh, I faced the same issue as yours on the bookmyhsrp website, after speaking with the customer they asked me to create an account/register at https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan//en/content/vehicle-related-services . After about 4 hours on registering on the parivahan websiteI was able to book the colour sticker.

  Hi Achal, so did you create just a login or there were any other next steps on the parivahan website, I did the login creation yesterday, even till now MyHSRP portal is throwing the same error “Kindly update details from your registration certificate. (Vehicle registratoin number xxxxx)’ as I just now checked.
  
  The customer care care also said the same thing to go to Parivahan sewa and create a login and try after 24hrs or so also said to create the browsing history. But no luck, will after some time again. else will call MyHSRP customer care.

I had all the details on my old white sticker- Rear & front codes of HSRP , chassis number, vehicle number, engine number. I Had put in a valid blue petrol code background colour from inside too. My only confusion is dear that in the previous stickers the DATE OF PURCHASE of vehicle is not mentioned. My number plates are also proper HSRP compliant. ANYONE HELP – MOHIT VERMA

the whole process is a mess. Govt must ensure to make a smooth process then only they should doing challans. bookmyhsrp site is a big mess and never work. i am putting all my details correct it is still saying “kindly update details from your registration certificate”. Ideally after putting the registration number, the website should pull all details automatically from the RTO system.

I already have the HSRP plate however when i try to book just for the sticker, after filling out all the necessary details i click the option for home deliver, when i land upto the point where i need to select the home delivery date and time the date is already selected and there in no option to select the time. i tried with all the os and web browsers the issues stays, i have also tried to contact the hsrp customer care no but as usual no one picks the call, i then tried to email them and yes no one responds. Please advise how do i go about getting only the sticker.

– Enter last 5 digits in each of the field i.e. Chassis Number and Engine Number (instead of entering the entire number) and it will take you to next screen.

Hello Guys, here is the solution.
First lets say your Chassis No. is ABCDEXXXXXXXXXXXXX54321
I was not able to fill entire chassis number because of the character limit on bookmyhsrp site. One thing to note is that hsrp site was not accepting last 5 digits of chasis number.

So the resoluton is that you will have to remove first 5 character of chassis number ie ABCDE and include last 5 characters of your chasis number

After multiple attempts to get my vehicle registered at hsrp, I could finally pass the vehicle details page after using only last five digits of chassis number as suggested in the comments above. My chassis number consists of character ~. However, now I am stuck at delivery address page. It shows ” sever error in ‘/’ application” . I have also tried registering without the character ‘/’. What should I do now?

Just check the size of uploaded picture , I was also getting the same error but then i uploaded the images after reducing the size to 3.11 MB and guess what it worked perfectly, now after so many days i finally have the order completed… Big relief now assuming they will deliver my sticker by the stipulated date which is 8th Jan.

The registration of my car Grand i 10 Nios was done in OCTOBER 2020, but unfortunately my car met with an accident in december. So i lost the sticker. If i am applying through bookmyhsrp , they are saying the registration of vehicle should be before April 2020 for application. How can i get the sticker? The registration state is Himachal and i am driving the vehicle in Chandigarh.
