Hyundai Alcazar Officially Revealed With Key Specifications

It is finally the moment we all were waiting for. The 7-seater SUV segment has a promising new contender and the throne of veterans like the XUV500 and the Tata Safari is now officially challenged. Yes, we are talking about the Hyundai Alcazar; the 7-seater Creta based SUV that was the talk of the town for quite a long time.

Hyundai has now finally revealed the engine, transmission and other key details of the Alcazar along with some exclusive and official images that have got us excited all over again. Let’s stop the talking and dive right into what’s confirmed.

The Officially Revealed Hyundai Alcazar

The Alcazar Powertrain

The much-speculated engine specs are now officially out. The Alcazar will be powered by both a petrol and diesel option. The petrol burner would be Hyundai’s 3rd Gen Nu 2.0 litre unit that puts out a punchy 159 PS of max power with 191 Nm of peak torque. The diesel game will be taken care of, by a U2 1.5-litre diesel burner that will churn out 115 PS of max power with a peak torque of 250 Nm. That’s not all; Hyundai has also revealed that the Nu 2.0 BS6 engine can do a 0-100 sprint in less than 10 seconds! A cool flex of power I must say.

The Alcazar’s Transmission

No capable engine is complete without a worthy transmission. And as per the official website of Hyundai motors, the Alcazar will too get a worthy transmission. Both engines onboard the Hyundai Alcazar will be mated to both a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. Hyundai has also mentioned that both gearboxes will have an optimised final gear ratio for better performance.

Other Details Confirmed

Amongst other details officially confirmed by Hyundai is the fact that the Alcazar will feature an enhanced suspension set-up with a hydraulic rebound stopper for the front strut that will provide a better rebound control and a smoother ride.

As we earlier mentioned the Alcazar will also get a 1st in segment second-row console armrest that will provide superior comfort and a premium feel. The Alcazar will also boast a best in segment Wheelbase along with “Sliding Seats” that will offer versatile legroom.

For the safety department, Hyundai confirmed that the Alcazar will be built with 75.6 % of Advanced and High-Strength Steel (AHSS & HSS). As per the website, the underbody has also been designed to absorb and disperse impact energy.
