FAQs
1. What is the NCAP rating for the Kia Seltos?
Kia Seltos has a 3-star crash safety rating for adults and a 2-star safety rating for child occupant tests. However, this rating is based on the base variant of Seltos and it might change according to the variant.
2. Why did Seltos sales drop?
Increased competition in the making of compact SUV models, build quality, and shortcoming of the new model led to a decrease in the sales of Seltos.
3. Which car is safer, Kia or Hyundai?
Kia and Hyundai both come with safety features like level 2 ADAS, airbags, ABS, and parking sensors, but Kia comes with a more sleak design and structure, which makes it more stable.
4. Which is safer, Creta or Seltos?
Seltos and Creta both are good in safety, both come with front dual airbags, ABS with EBD, parking sensors, 360-degree cameras, etc, but Seltos has the advantage of 6 airbags and pricing.
5. Is the Kia Seltos a safe car?
It’s moderately safe, decent in many areas, weak in some. Global NCAP crash tests give it a 3-star rating for adult occupant protection. But child occupant safety is lower, which means extra care is needed if you often carry kids.
6. Is the Kia Seltos safe in a crash?
Yes, for the front passengers in low to moderate crashes it offers reasonable protection, especially the head and neck. But in more serious scenarios, the body shell and footwell area show weaknesses, and protection for knees/chest isn’t always strong.
7. What is the biggest problem with Kia Seltos?
Its weakest link is child occupant protection – in the test, the child dummy moved too much and there was poor head/neck protection. Also, the body shell’s instability under severe loads is another concern.
