The Global NCAP is an initiative aimed at reducing road accidents and improving vehicle safety throughout the world.  NCAP conducts numerous tests under different conditions to ensure that vehicles comply with high safety standards. The process of assessment may vary from country to country, but the major areas for such evaluation include:

  • Adult Occupant Protection.

This examines how effectively the car safeguards its occupants in different types of impacts, such as side,  rear, and frontal collisions, and its ability to reduce the risk of whiplash injuries.

Child Occupant Protection.

  • It looks at how compatible a car is with different child restraint systems (CRS) and if the vehicle has ISOFIX anchorages that are appropriate for child seats.

Safety Features.

  • This checks whether a vehicle includes essential safety technologies in the prevention of injuries leading to an accident. This would include technologies such as anti-lock Braking System (ABS), ESC, and more.

Kia Sonet Rating: A Solid Performer or Still to Be Tested?

Kia Sonet quickly became a remarkable addition to Kia’s Indian line-up which is expanding. The Kia Sonet is a very well-fitted and reasonably priced compact SUV for sale. It competes with other market leaders such as the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Renault Kiger and  Mahindra XUV 300 in the market. The Sonet has a wide range of Petrol and Diesel engine options which is what makes this car more marketable to a wider pool of buyers than many of its competitors.

Sonet’s features make it excel in combining the compact SUV style with practicality However, some say it could get a similar or better rating to the Kia Carens, which got a GNCAP safety rating of three out of five stars.
