The XUV700 was launched last year and got sold out in 57 minutes. Mahindra has received over 50,000 bookings, while the deliveries have not picked up the pace yet. Most Powerful Engine
New Mahindra XUV700 Variants & Prices Revealed It is the most powerful in its segment, leaving all of its competitors behind. It comes with both petrol and diesel engines. The mStallion turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine churns out 200 hp & 380Nm of torque. Both engines are offered with a 6-speed manual/ AMT transmission. This makes it the most power-packed in the segment, and with the competitive pricing, Mahindra gained a lot of buyers.

The other engine on the offer is a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel unit with two power configurations. The lower tuned stage with the base variants makes 155hp & 360Nm of torque, while the higher tuned version in the AX trims makes 185hp & 420Nm of torque. (450Nm with AMT gearbox) This diesel engine also gets four drive modes on offer; Zip, Zap, Zoom & Custom, which alter and enhance the driving experience further.

ADAS
It is the first car in the segment to get ADAS: Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. Mahindra has focused a lot on safety and loaded the car with new ADAS features such as autonomous emergency braking, drowsiness alerts, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitoring & adaptive cruise control.

ADAS is still new in the Indian market, and Astor & Gloster are the only two competitors who have it. This system utilises various sensors & cameras to enable other features such as FCW, front collision warning, and even Autopilot to some extent too. The autopilot only comes with the automatic variants and can manage to stop & go traffic too.

Design
XUV700 rear view Although the design is derived from the XUV500, the new sharper cuts are more appealing. The vast hood radiates immense power with the heart resting inside, and overall, XUV700 has a strong road presence turning heads wherever it goes.

It is larger than the XUV500 with the same width but more room in the cabin. The upright front grille, along with new C-shaped headlamps & unique DRLs. XUV700 also stands on newly cut alloy wheels, reworked bumpers, and a new tailgate.

Feature Loaded
XUV700 Dashboard XUV700 is densely feature-packed with various first in segment features and ADAS aspects. Among the features, we have another first in the segment, the popping out door handles which sit well in the door, giving it a neat appearance.
The interior packs a fully digital instrument cluster with a 10.25 inch-screen layout running through the dashboard. The instrument cluster and the infotainment system stand upfront in the dashboard. It also has the biggest sunroof available in the segment known as the Skyroof and a 5/7 seater configuration option.

Mahindra also offers a luxury package with the top trims, adding another edge of features. It comes with features such as the 3D surround sound system with a 12-speaker layout & a subwoofer. There is also a 360-degree camera with electrically deployable door handles & an electronic parking brake.

XUV700 Scores 5 Stars Global NCAP Mahindra has extensively focused on safety with this SUV. Adding the ADAS technology with other features such as the auto-booster headlamps is just a glimpse of how safe the XUV700 is. As there is no question about the build quality, Mahindra’s SUVs are built to last, and with the top-spec AWD variant, they catered to offroading enthusiasts.

Safety-wise it scored 5-stars in the Global NCAP crash test, there were rumours about the tailgate negatively impacting the safety, but the tests told a different story. In addition to the ADAS features, the top-spec trims come with 7-airbags, ABS, ESP. Mahindra has already revised the prices, and now the base MX range starts from ₹12.49 lakhs going up to ₹22.99 lakhs for the fully-loaded AWD luxury variant.
