Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 | Coming To India?

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is expected to launch in India by the end of this year. Although there is no official confirmation about the launch, it will be similar to the currently available bikes in their lineup, such as the Interceptor 650 and the upcoming Super Meteor 650, which is also expected to launch around the same time. Let’s see what we know:

Royal Enfield revealed the all-new SG650 Twin concept at the 2021 EICMA show in Milan. They have not mentioned it yet, but we think SG might stand for shotgun.

This concept might act as a platform for their new & upcoming Bobber-styled bikes. They are also planning to expand their lineup in India, and two test mules were also spotted in Chennai.

Mechanical Specifications

The mechanical specifications are not revealed yet, but we expect it to be similar to the Interceptor INT650 & Continental GT 650. This 648cc parallel-twin engine churns out 47hp @7250rpm & 52Nm torque @ 5250rpm.

It features a CNC billet machine fuel tank and tires made of solid aluminum with integrated ABS. It gets dual disc brakes at the front along with inverted front forks. It might be equipped with a beefed-up version of the Meteor 650’s chassis with gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear.

Design

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 features a single floating hand-stitched seat with a short tubular handlebar with mirrors at the ends. It stands on chunky tires and has a chopped rear & front fender. In addition to that, the styling elements feature a retro aluminum finish at the front along with modern digital graphics on the fuel tank.

Along with the tear-drop-shaped fuel tank, auxiliary lights might be mounted on the leg guards. It will be equipped with center footpegs & circular lighting elements with an LED headlamp. The production-spec version might differ and have some optional accessories on offer. While there is no word about the price yet, we can expect something between ₹3-3.5 lakhs.
