5 Common Problems With The Mahindra XUV 700

The SUV that shook the market when it arrived, the XUV 700 came in as a breeze of fresh air amidst the competition, and in no time rose to become one of the most wanted SUVs in the Indian market. But despite a package that impressed many, the XUV 700 isn’t perfect. So here are 5 common problems reported on the XUV 700.

  1. Problems with Alexa

While XUV 700 boasts several premium features that give the vehicle an edge over the competition, Alexa connectivity is something that the XUV 700 isn’t able to get right, at least as of yet. Several users have repeatedly pointed out that Alexa simply refuses to work 90% of the time. In fact, the problem with Alexa is so widespread, that several users have claimed that if they use their car 10 times a day, Alexa would only work about 1 or 2 times. Considering the price of the XUV 700, this is quite an embarrassment. Moving beyond Alexa, users have also reported that the infotainment system itself blacks out after a few minutes every now and then.

The XUV 700 is an SUV that is meant to take on tough terrains like a boss. However, in contrast, several users have reported issues with the vehicle’s suspension. While going over bumps, the SUV reportedly creates “thud” noises and the overall suspension itself is quite noisy according to many. While for some the issue has been resolved via re-torquing, for many the issue still remains. Considering the class of the vehicle, suspension issues being reported this early is a serious issue that Mahindra must tackle.

  3. Problems with the ADAS System

One of the biggest selling points of the XUV 700 is the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. However, rather than aiding the vehicle to perform better, several users including prominent YouTuber Vikas Dayal of channel Explore The Unseen 2.0, have reported that the ADAS automatic braking onboard the XUV 700 is faulty, and is applying brakes when not needed resulting in the wearing of brake pads in mere 10,000 Kms. Other users have also reported that ADAS functionality isn’t as smooth as it should be and doesn’t work well a lot of times.

  4. Check Engine Light

For many users, a constant problem with the XUV 700 is the cropping up of the check engine light and contact dealer warning after a run of 20 km. and above. For many users despite a visit to the service centre, the light again comes up on the MID creating hassles for owners who despite buying a vehicle so premium are visiting the service centre repeatedly to tackle the issue.

  5. Problems with Speakers and Adreno X

Boasting a 6-speaker premium audio set-up and a first-of-its-kind AI-connected car tech AdrenoX, the Mahindra XUV 700 created quite a buzz on its launch. However, the reality is rather shocking, as the so-called 6-speaker audio set-up has been repeatedly reported to crackle on high volume, while the AdrenoX X reportedly takes a millennium to respond to even basic commands. Overall, the tech side of the XUV 700 has been a cause of concern for many.

  1. The suspension issue is major. Makes it one of the best to one of the worst vehicle as soon it hit unmetalled and kuccha roads. Mahindra should have really worked on that. This will surely have an effect on re sale value. Just worried whether i will get a good re sale price even after 2 years. Big let down Mahindra.
