Kia Syros: Panoramic Sunroof Confirmed?

Kia India has just dropped yet another teaser for its upcoming compact SUV, the Kia Syros, and it’s getting everyone excited. This latest glimpse reveals that the Syros will come with a panoramic sunroof, one of its standout features that promises to bring a touch of luxury to this compact SUV. But that’s not all. The Syros will also offer a host of premium features, including ventilated seats, multiple driving modes, traction control, leatherette upholstery, and a top-notch Bose sound system.

What does the Teaser say?

What sets the Kia Syros apart from the rest of the compact SUVs is its emphasis on comfort and space, especially for rear-seat passengers. With a boxy design, a flat roof, and an upright rear end, the Syros maximizes cabin space. Despite measuring under 4 meters in length, it’s expected to offer more interior room than the Kia Sonet, placing it in the same league as larger SUVs like the Kia Seltos. This makes it a solid option for those who want more space without compromising on style.

The teaser images reveal design cues that closely resemble Kia’s flagship EV9. The Syros boasts a unique shape with a clamshell bonnet that smoothly slopes down to a tall, sharp front end. Another eye-catching detail is the rising window line that sharpens towards the rear quarter of the vehicle, reminiscent of the Skoda Yeti’s distinctive look.

While Kia has yet to confirm the exact engine options, industry rumors suggest that the Syros will be available in both petrol/diesel (ICE) and electric variants. The petrol/diesel models are expected to hit the roads first, with the electric version following soon after. Both versions will share the same platform and offer front-wheel drive, which should provide a smooth and efficient ride.

Positioned above the current crop of sub-4m SUVs like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, and the newly launched Skoda Kylaq, the Syros aims to set a new benchmark in its segment. Though not officially confirmed, there’s a strong possibility that Kia will showcase the production-ready version of the Syros at the Bharat Mobility Show in January 2025, giving us a closer look at what’s to come.
